Memorial Weekend New Mexico/Arizona Ride May 24-26
Join the CHAPTER for a weekend of riding through Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and back again. Highlights of the ride will include: (1) the Trail of the Mountian Spirits Scenic Byway, through the western NM mountians, (2) overviews of two giant copper mines, (3) the Devil's Hwy, formerly US-666, (4) the Coronado Scenic Byway, through the AZ rim country. and (5) the desert of NE AZ and western NM.
Day 1: Ride US-285 towards Santa Fe through south central Colorado then take I-25 to Truth or Consequences, NM.
Day 2: Ride the Byways and Devil's Hwy. We head west through the NM mountians to Clifton, AZ, for lunch. Then, head up the Devil's Hwy, along the Coronado Scenic Byway and throughdeserts to Galllup, NM. You will need to carry extra emergency water and extra gas, if you ride a gas guzzler or have smal tanks, since we are riding in sparely populated areas. Gas/hydration stops are planned every 120 miles but these can be 3 hours apart.
Day 3: We deadhead ASAP back to Metro-Denver via I-40 and I-25. The ride will end entering Lone Tree on I-25
HOTELS: You may stay and any hotel your wish. For economy, you might consider sharing with a roommate. However, the rides end and start the next moring at these hotels:

WARNINGS:
These are long days. Expect 10-11plus hours of riding, including stops. Please be as rested, as possible. Stops need to be short and efficient,
Deserts are hot and dry. Carry extra water. Use a hydration backpack to sip as you ride. If you start feeling poorly, send your request to pull over up to the lead via phone or hand signals to the bike ahead of you. We pause for you.
This ride maybe re-routed or even cancelled pending bad weather, like a weekend of rain and possible snow. Keep this in mind when booking hotels.
Closed Event: Chapter activities are conducted primarily for the benefit of H.O.G. Chapter members. Closed Events are those events open to Chapter members and one guest per member. All guests must sign an event release. Be aware, all rides and events are subject to change or cancellation due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control.
Impairment Policy: The consumption and use of alcohol is a serious personal responsibility involving the safety of family, riding friends and the individual HOG member. Alcohol consumption before or during a motorcycling activity is not safe, responsible behavior. Denver Chapter #3188 does not allow the use of alcohol or drugs before or during a riding event* and does not furnish alcohol at Chapter rides. Riders whose skills are observed or suspected to be impaired by alcohol or drugs before riding cannot join the ride. Riders using alcohol or drugs while riding will be asked to leave the ride. It is the responsibility of each Template Chapter member to support the consistent enforcement of this policy
Photography Policy: Photographing, filming, recording and videotaping of activities and events will be occurring Denver Chapter events. By entering the H.O.G.® event area, you irrevocably grant permission to the Harley-Davidson Motor Company® and its agents to photograph, film, record and/or videotape you and use (and authorize the use of) your name, image, likeness, voice, and/or biographical or other information in any and all media now known or hereinafter developed in perpetuity for any and all purposes.
